this is gunna be a long road to truth, looking at both sides. and i will need help
by Aussie Oz inconvinced as i 99% am that the wt society is all we have concluded, i feel i owe to myself and my children to be 100% convinced before actively trying to extract them.. first up i must say, doctrine is of little interest to me.
what gets me is the provable wrong-doing, the hypocrasy, cover-ups, double standards, you know what i mean i think.. on that sort of stuff, i feel it right to look at the counter arguments and proofs offered to explain the wt side of things, both by wt soc themselves and apologists.. therein lies the daunting road.
i grew up in the 'truth', so i never got to make sure of all things before getting baptised.

List of Prominent JW Urban Legends...
by Tuesday inhey folks,.
i'm wondering if you all could help me with my next video that i want to put up in the next couple of days (though i'm hoping for tonight), i want to come up with a list of the most prominent urban legends surrounding jws and then refute them whatever they may be.. i'm thinking there's the urban legend about the question on jeopardy that said the nwt was the most accurate would be a good one.
that one stems from an online powerpoint presentation named theological jeopardy and a book which was written comparing six different translations of the bible.

Another one was that that the country crooner Glen Campbell had become a witness.

Actually CT never died he lives on.
and come on.....Cindy is a lot hotter than that old boot in your youtube!
Rutherford? [good frined of mine at one point] now owns a Cadilac dealership in Texas.......16 cyl models being a speciallty.
The matrix agent dosen't look at all like me but I would like to comment that he is a perfect example of what all JW elders 'should' look like, in other words a clone from the 1950's the Golden age of my brethern.

How did you get out of field service?
by return visitor ini had a boat that i always wanted to name "return visits" that way whenever i was asked why i wasn't in field service on saturday i could respond, "i went out on return visits" and nobody would be the wiser.
just wondering, did anyone else come up with a good way to dodge that question?.

This was actually being practised by my Dad, my Uncle and his friends way back in the 1940's [when JW's were actually supposed to be more sincere about everything] He said that they used to drive over to the territory and then 'survey the whole territory' which meant driving very slowly aorund the whole boundary and then up and down all the streets within the territory......these dudes didn't even worry about actually talking to anyone to 'start their time'. by that time it was time to go for coffee break. The one time I actually got bamboozled into going 'aux pioneering' for a month I used to go to the group to 'show my face' [damn that meant getting up on time] and then going out to 'map' territories.....I was the territory guy for apts at the time. Then I'd do anything to kill time, go to the library....did a lot of reading that month. Then I'd go home to the wife and say what a wonderful spiritual day i'd had out-in-service. ctr the ivth

Congregations Closing Down
by choosing life ini recently heard about a congregation that was "diabanded".
the publishers were reassigned to other congregations.
is this happening elsewhere or just a local thing?

hate to say this but the major influx of new 'bodies' into the religion in USA/Canada are immigrants. many Asians who just want to learn Engrish and then take off. Of course these are looked upon as the vast numbers of 'new ones' from god-forsaken China where they were unable to learn about Jeehoobah. My mother is always telling me about the many man new ones studying in her hall but they are nostly these migrant Chinese.

Blow up at an elder lately?
by Dune ini consider myself to be an extremely tolerant person.
i'm one of those people that are extremely yielding, never get into confrontations and things of that sort.. i've been fading for about two months but instead of being smart like everyone else on the board and doing it gradually, i simply just dropped off the face of the earth (by witness standards) and just focused on school and work.. theres one elder that has been calling my family asking about my whereabouts, the times i'm home, my cell # and all the good stuff.
i wake up at 6:30 in the morning to the guy calling me, i dont bother picking up but he leaves a message.

Isn't it a 'priveledge' to be called on by the 'elders' with their sweet words of wisdom any time of the day or night? I personally agree with the former poster......tell him that's it's really difficult to talk before you have your morning dump [uuuggggghhhnnn] and then just let that hang while the 'elder' collects his thoughts trying to figure out what to say. ctrtheivth
